Toronto-based Tango TV, which was purchased by CTV, will be the first Canadian broadcast TV station in the United States to offer live coverage of the NBA All-Star Game.
The announcement comes as CTV moves to increase its reach across the country, including to Canadian markets.
“The NBA is the global sports icon and the ultimate fan experience,” said Craig Hlavaty, president and CEO of CTV.
“We are thrilled to bring our unique content to Canadians, and are excited to be bringing the same quality and quality of programming to the United State, the first time.”
Tango will launch its broadcast live from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, beginning with the 2016 All-Stars game on Monday, July 22.
The NBA will then broadcast its game on CTV Sportsnet, CTV GO, and CTV Montreal.
